Wayne SAA Creates Two Travel Awards for AuD Students

The Wayne State SAA's diligent fundraising efforts in the 2012-2013 year have provided the organization with sufficient funds to create two travel awards for AuD students to attend either the annual Michigan Audiology Coalition (MAC) conference or the American Academy of Audiology AudiologyNow conference. At the first meeting of the 2013-2014 board, the chapter voted to create two $250 travel awards to facilitate students wishing to attend educational conferences.

Students will be required to write an essay on what attending these conferences means to them and submit them by June 1, 2014. The winners will be selected by a panel of three professors, consisting of one Audiology professor and two professors from other programs. Winners will be announced on September 2, 2014.

It is the hope of the WSU SAA to be able to continue to support these travel awards on an annual basis; providing an opportunity for students who would not otherwise be able to attend these valuable educational events.
